Its so unlike me to be playing anything sports related on my xbox. But today i played a few games of Madden 2006. Damn thats fun, tourneys are great for playing with several people. whcih we did. i think i won three times against the best of the best of the rest. the controls are easy to learn(at least for me) though i did screw up a few times which led to my downfall. NEVER run backwards when the goal line is right behind you. oy i lost to mike in OT after he got the safety. Final score 2-0 mike. But i came back against nishanth, his friend from middlesex,a nd finally ben wooot. I havent played sports titles in years, but this game was so good. i highly recommend it for any casual gamers. i didnt try the live component however but if the gameplay is still the same then ill bet its worthwhile to purchase just for the live. Characters are detailed, madden is constantly bickering, and all the while the 2-d crowd is cheering your every play. unless you screw up and lose the ball, then the view cuts to dissapointed fans. which were curiously fully 3d rendered. All in ALL, pick up this game or hold out for the 360 version, which will have revamped graphics (duh) and a few tweaks to gameplay. full 3-d crowds baby!!

not really, using an older keyboard cuz we needed one more change in life. yeah katies at UNH now, shell be back next saturday though. recieved an im from her today. yup yup, used google talk with yura. him and i are trying to convert people to it, so were inviting people to gmail and subsequently to google talk, g'talk for the rest of us. I stand by my previous statement from wednesday i think it was. it is a very stable and fun voip service, and in yuras words: "AIM IS CRAP"
i dont completely agree however. its easier to send photos and files with aim but googles talk has the symbolic clean white aesthetic quality. lol which was popularized by their search engines page. its something that yahoo and msn dont have, they have eye sores on their pages. with ads, news, and tons of crap it forces the user to beg the question where the !@#$ is the search bar?! but thats besides my point. google talk also has a very nice ringtone for when the user is being called. its very..soothing. all in all it is a nice service. not yet ready to compete with yahoo and aol however, (u need an invite only google mail account), but it has the potential to challenge aol and yahoo for their loyal users desktops.

i highly recommend everyone with access to a decent mic to try out skype and google talk, the overall performances of these services dwarfs yahoos VOIP feature. Calls are crisp and clear depending on your connection speed. Plus both programs have buil-in Messengers. for those who dont know, VOIP means Voice Over Internet Protocol. Mainly it allows u to place calls over the internet instead of using a telephony connection. One of skypes best fetures is conference calling, it allows u to set up a six way chat room for voice. so u and five others can talk to each other at once. very good stuff. above all else its free, u can pay to set up ur own voicemail and such, plus long distance calling for a nice price. but i think most will stick to their cellular devices.
Also, Verizon FIOS is something i want to talk about. Its a very fast connection that can provide 15 mbs download rates and i think the same for uploads. sad thing is i dont think anyone will be getting this anytime soon, at least ppl i know. ive also read that u can push this tech. to 100 mbs. but that i have no way to confirm that. Its currently being expanded, but ill bet itll be at least five years before we get anything like that over here on the east coast. considering verizon took so long just to wire brookline for dsl. thats another thing, when does the definition of broadband begin, the fcc thinks it starts at 300kbs, but others think a connection is truly broadband at 1 mbs. your thoughts?
